The tour is based on a timeline of criminal proceedings, from the investigation to the sentence being carried out. Numerous themed sections delve into particular areas of legal history in more detail.

Overview of main building

First floor: Law in Germanic-Franconian era, statute books, the church and the law, inquisition proceedings, town and law, seals, sentenced to public humiliation, iron maiden, marriage, honour and women before the law, guildlaw, toilets

Second floor: State and constitutional law, police law, school punishments, spectacular criminal cases, superstitions, passport system, legal caricatures, ex libris books and faience items
